Frequently asked questions

The most common questions about 20face facial recognition.

20face processes facial data on-device or in a secured environment. Images are deleted immediately after processing — no photos or biometric templates are stored by default. We advise clients on the correct legal basis and data protection impact assessment (DPIA).
By default, 20face stores no images or face templates. The recognition engine operates zero-storage: the frame is processed and immediately discarded. Template storage is optional and requires explicit configuration.
Our models, developed with the University of Twente, consistently score above 99.5% on standard benchmarks. Quality checks and liveness detection ensure poor image quality and spoofing attempts are caught early.
20face XS works with standard IP cameras and a small edge computer. No special 3D sensors or expensive hardware are required. We support common brands such as Axis, Hanwha and Dahua.
XS is a complete plug-and-play solution for access control — hardware and software in one. SDK is a library for developers who want to embed recognition in their own applications (iOS, Android, Windows, Linux). API provides the same engine via a REST connection in the cloud, without managing your own infrastructure.
Our technology is deployed in healthcare, leisure (theme parks, events), high-security environments, corporate access control, logistics and logical access. Visit our markets page for a full overview per sector.
